About Addictions
Addictions are Adversities that can be Overcome
In the free book “Yes Pa,” you will discover that my father had an addiction—an addiction that caused him great stress—an addiction that made my mother’s life difficult—an addiction that made me the Prisoner of the Truck.
Many people have recovered or have been cured of an addiction. Many others have not. I am not a professional counselor on addictions. However, I do believe that with any adversity in life, a Triangle is important to a recovery or a cure, that is:
- the Will of the person
- the reliance on a Spiritual Partner
- the encouragement and support of loved ones
Addictions often require professional help. If we are physically sick, we see a doctor or a medical specialist. If we are burdened with a mental illness or an addiction, we should see a professional in that field. Today, the community offers help to adults and children, help that was not available to my family when I was a boy. Check out it out. Free help may be available for those who cannot afford it.
